Algonquin Sewing Centre is an independent quilting, knitting, counted cross- stitch store and a proud Dealer of Excellence with Husqvarna Viking sewing machines and sergers - and has been for more than a quarter century.

It is a store that is owner-managed - small enough to care about giving you great service and large enough to be able to supply you with the latest products in our trade. In February, 2009, Cyndi Teather purchased the store, having moved to the area in 1995 with the Canadian Armed Forces. Having completed her service in the Spring of 2007, she was looking for some way to 'do something different' while finding time for her passion for sewing. The Algonquin Sewing Center provided her with the perfect career!

Located in the beautiful Upper Ottawa Valley on the main road linking Pembroke and the Town of Petawawa at 2096 Petawawa Blvd., we are easily accessible. We own our own building with free parking right at the door and a flat entry that is wheelchair accessible. The store is all on the same level so that there are no stairs inside or out.

The Upper Ottawa Valley has a rich mixture of Canadians from all over the country. Our customers are knitters, quilter's, cross-stitchers and sewers from all backgrounds and many parts of the country. We serve many military families and have recently been able to access the Military Payment Plan, offering the members and families of Armed Forces personnel with an easy credit program. For others, we do have the Husqvarna Sewing Club Cards so you can "sew now, pay later".

The heart of our store is our classroom and it is here that we get the opportunity to introduce our customers to new hobbies. It is here that we support the products they buy from us - for example all of our Husqvarna Sewing Machines and Sergers customers are offered free classes to show them how to use the great features of their new machines.

When you are in the neighbourhood, stop in for a visit and  view the many samples of  sewing, quilting and knitting that we have on display. We like to think that "we have it all for you"...but if there's something you need that we don't have, we'll get it!.
