News from the Store

Wow! Can you believe it's August already!?! We can't either.  The staff here at the Algonquin Sewing Center has been working like mad during July to prepare for the open house on August 22nd.  We're pretty excited about showcasing all the classes we're going to be offering starting in September.  We will be offering classes on Knitting, Machine Quilting, Hand Quilting, Machine Embroidery, Hand Embroidery, Fusible Web Appliqué - and the list goes on.  Our highly qualified and experienced instructors will all be on hand to give advice and answer any questions you have.

Sew What's New!

Along with all the excitement of the Open House, we've also been maintaining business as usual.  We've been busy topping up our pattern and book selection, and bringing in exciting new quilt fabric collections, including Flight of the Dancing Crane by Ro Gregg, Cambridge Square, Floral Melody from Northcott, and more.  Our Christmas fabric is also rolled out already with some classic fabrics and some new looks and colors, like Sheri Berry and Fairy Frost collection.  These fabrics must be seen and touched to be truly appreciated.

In our yarn department we've brought in a few new products also.  We now carry Ella Rae Classic in regular and heather tones, Filz-wolle by Online, and Pure Organic Cotton by Patons.  We've also added the Heritage line to our Briggs and Little wools and some fantastic new books and patterns.

We certainly can't forget the cross-stitch department so  we've brought in some great new books, including some Christmas pattern books, a collection of Vintage Stitched preprinted ornaments, Mill Hill beads and a great selection of Krienik threads.

We always look forward to seeing you and hope you can come out and help us make our Open House a truly successful occasion.  All donations to CPAN will be truly appreciated by the children in our community who need your help.
